****Includes spoilers so don't read if you don't want to know****

As I'm sure you can guess from my Norman Reedus gallery, I'm a huge Walking Dead fan.  I've seen all the episodes, gone to a bunch of panels at conventions, and read a the first five trades of the comic so far.  Finally the wait is over and a new season has started! 

Here are a couple thoughts I had on the first episode. 

Similarities to the comics  I try not to get too attached to books or comics but it is always cool seeing some of the same scenes brought to life. The pokers through and fence and everyone trying to keep the attention off of the ones going in to fight was cool to see. Even though the ending was a different character, I'm glad to see they went with the shocking scene. Having to cut off someone's leg caused a huge shift in Rick and the group so I'm happy they included it.  Poor Hershal though. 

Michonne ... kicks ass.  Need I say more?  Her zombie boyfriends are so awesome, haha. 

Maggie  Umm, also can kick some major ass now.  I love her. Her and Glen are awesome. It gives such a good element of hope into the show. 

Daryl Did anyone else notice how much more time he got in this episode?!?! Please let that be an omen of things to come.  In some of the ads I've seen he is in the front of the photo, almost as showcased as Rick. Maybe a shower scene (like the Boondock Saint one) will be in order!!! Speaking of sexy, why do they have him romancing Carol.  Come on, throw him a super hot chick, please. 

Lori and Andrea Yep still there and still annoying.
